David Howes, described as “brilliantly droll” (Opera Now), “inspiring” (GrenzEcho), and praised for his “richly nuanced and highly flexible vocal range” (der Opernfreund), is a Bass-Baritone from Limerick, Ireland. He is currently a member of the ensemble at Theater Magdeburg.

David regularly performs with Irish National Opera and has previously appeared with Oper Köln, Wexford Festival Opera, Staatsoper Hannover, Longborough Festival Opera, and Theater Aachen, amongst others. In the 2026/27 season he will make role debuts as Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte, Malyuta Skuratov in The Tsar’s Bride, and Colline in la bohème with Theater Magdeburg, and returns to Irish National Opera as Kruşina in The Bartered Bride.
